Style + Protection
As a uniquely rider owned company we understand the importance of creating products with industry leading protection that riders actually want to wear. From the signature brim on the Classic to the street inspired style of the Icon, we have continued to develop our collection.
We understand that action sports and our riders’ needs are continually evolving and progressing. Our dedication to progression and creativity makes Sandbox one of the industry’s most respected and well-loved helmet choices. That’s why we have MIPS, CE and UKCA certifications for snow, and this coming season are excited to include a fit system into all helmets to ensure the helmet fits just right.
Comfort
Style and Protection are nothing without comfort - we focused our development on fine-tuning our fits.
We are excited to include a fit system to ensure an off-the-wall perfect fit.
We listened to your feedback and are excited to expand our size offerings to include an XL size for both the Icon and Classic helmets.
Mips®
Mips® safety system functionality
We know from scientific research that the brain is particularly sensitive to rotation. In the event of an impact, the helmet technology provided by a Mips® safety system is intended to help reduce the impact of rotational energy to the head by enabling a relative movement between the head and helmet.
When such an impact occurs the forces the build-up between the head and helmet are immense. These forces can be compared to the weight of up to 10 people suddenly standing on your head. Under such high pressure, the friction between head and helmet makes it hard for the helmet to move – even if the straps are slightly loose or if the helmet doesn’t have a properly secure fit as recommended by the manufacturer. But a Mips® low-friction layer inside a helmet can still allow omni-directional movement of 10-15mm when that high load occurs.
Mips® is available in our Classic 2.0 Snow and Icon Snow models.
Patented Air Flow
Air Flow
Our patented Airflow system is designed to let air enter the helmet from below the brim and through the front Slash Vent. This air flow then moves through channels in the liner that run up and over the crown, collecting excess heat and moisture rising up the Chimney Vents, exhausting it all out the Rear Vents. The end result? A cooler ride.
Chimney Venting
To help keep you cool, we added Chimney Vents that allow heat to rise passively through the eight vents in the crown. This heat then meets the helmet’s Air Flow system and is pushed out the Rear Vents.
Goggle Venting
We designed the Goggle Venting system to work seamlessly with most goggles. Heat and moisture are drawn from your face and eye wear, up through channels in the EPS liner and out the Rear Vents.
